The Los Angeles Lakers' history is filled with many great players and championships. This fact has made Kobe Bryant express very clear, that it should be enough to get any player to want to come and play for the franchise.

In a recent sit-down interview with Jalen Rose from ESPN, Bryant was asked if he would help recruit any players this summer to the Lakers.

“The thing about this franchise is that you shouldn't need recruiting to come here. It takes a special person to want to play for this franchise and take the pressure that comes along with playing for this franchise. The pressure of following Magic's footsteps and myself and the dynasty that we've had, it takes a special person to do that. And if I need to convince you to come here, to carry that legacy forward, you ain't the one to be here.”

With their trades during last week's trade deadline, the Lakers opened up cap space to sign two max players in the coming years to join forces with the young studs already on the team.

Many believe that Paul George will be one of those candidates although he seems to really be enjoying his time in Oklahoma City, so that isn't as much of a given as it was before this season started. The other big name the Lakers are expected to go after is LeBron James who will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

No matter who the Lakers decide to go after and no matter how big the name, one thing is for sure, Bryant won't be helping recruit him.
