Six-time Pro Bowl participant Terrell Owens was inducted to the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday. In his acceptance speech, the 44-year-old gave a shout out to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, stating how the latter served as an inspiration for Owens throughout his career.

In the touching moment, Owens thanked Bryant for his fervor towards the game of basketball. Like most of us, Owens also admired Bryant's unmatched work ethic and undying devotion to his craft. These obviously meant a lot to Owens and as it turns out, he considered Bryant to be a role model.

Owens had a remarkable 16-year career in the NFL. Despite not being able to get his hands on the much-coveted Vince Lombardi trophy, he is still considered as one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the sport.

In his career, Owens recorded a total of 1,078 receptions, 15,934 receiving yards, and 153 touchdowns. He ranks third all-time in receiving touchdowns during the regular season, behind only Jerry Rice and Randy Moss.

Likewise, Bryant also had an equally, if not a more, illustrious career in the NBA. The five-time champion led the league in scoring twice in his career and was selected to the All-Star team 18 times out of his 20 seasons. Bryant's 33,643 career points are third all-time.

Having only been retired from the sport for two years, Bryant has yet to get his invitation to the Hall of Fame. However, his eventual induction is a certainty.
