The Los Angeles Lakers should not risk trading Anthony Davis for Kyrie Irving. It's just not worth it, at least according to basketball ‘genius' Skip Bayless.
Remember that late last year, many were convinced the Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets would face each other in the 2022 NBA Finals. That was not a shocker then, given the star power of both squads. The Nets had a big three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. The Lakers, meanwhile, featured a superteam composed of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and (okay) Carmelo Anthony.
Things did not happen the way people expected, though. The Nets were booted much earlier than expected in the playoffs, while the Lakers did not even make the play-in tournament.
As such, both franchises are looking to shake things up in the offseason. There's a chance the Nets and the Lakers may actually swap each other's players.
With embattled guard Kyrie Irving unable to resolve his role in the Nets' future, doors have swung open for a possible departure.
The Los Angeles Lakers are among his possible destinations, with star big man Anthony Davis allegedly dangled as trade bait.

This is where NBA analyst Skip Bayless enters the scene. His recent tweet implies how the Lakers should not even consider this kind of deal, especially not any that involves Davis.
The Lakers are going to acquire Kyrie HOW??? In a sign-and-trade for Anthony Davis? AD is more valuable now than a Kyrie who now believes there are far more important things in life than winning basketball games … which is great unless you want $50 mil a year to win games.

For Bayless, Irving is just not worth the cost of losing AD and/or another player on the current Lakers roster. Much of the contention revolves around Irving's inability to play complete seasons. He has never played all 82 games in a season, and the last time he played 60 games or more was in 2018-2019.
Lakers fans, however, want Kyrie, as long as any trade won't involve losing AD or LeBron James.
