After suffering what JJ Redick called a mild hamstring injury, Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic missed the team’s win against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday as he was ruled out on the injury report.

With the Lakers set to face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, Luka Doncic was officially ruled out on the injury report as he continues to deal with the hamstring issue. Following the win against the Warriors, Redick acknowledged that Doncic is considered day-to-day moving forward.

Doncic initially suffered the injury during the Lakers’ win against the Philadelphia 76ers last Thursday. He exited the game near the end of the second quarter, and was ultimately ruled out for the rest of the game. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in a little over 16 minutes.

One of the potential MVP candidates this season, Doncic is in his first full year with the Lakers after last season’s shocking blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks. He is currently leading the NBA in scoring at 32.8 points per game.

Doncic has appeared in 42 games at a little over 35 minutes per game. He had dealt with some nagging injuries earlier this season, but has managed to play through it. Aside from his points, he’s been averaging 7.8 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.5 steal with splits of 46.2 percent shooting from the field, 36.6 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 77.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

With Doncic out, the Lakers did welcome back Austin Reaves who had missed 19 games due to a calf injury. The Lakers are currently 32-19 and in fifth place in the Western Conference standings. They have won three consecutive games.
