The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly expected to be patient in their search for the team’s next president and head coach, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Magic Johnson stepped down from the position on Wednesday, a move which shocked the entire Lakers organization. Los Angeles and head coach Luke Walton mutually agreed to part ways on Friday as well.

The Lakers are expected to be patient with their approach in moving forward to find a potential new voice, sources familiar with their thinking say.

Los Angeles missed the playoffs this season, the first year of the LeBron James era. The Lakers are expected to try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis again this summer.

LA will also pursue max free agents, as they have cap space to sign another superstar to pair next to James. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler are all free agents this summer.

It's going to be interesting to see who owner Jeanie Buss hires as the new president and head coach. The Lakers haven't made the postseason since 2013. LeBron signed a four-year deal with LA because he knew it was going to be a process to get the organization back to its winning ways.
