It's a good time to be a sports fan in Los Angeles. The Lakers have LeBron James. The Rams are undefeated. And, of course, the Dodgers just took down the upstart Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS and are heading to the World Series for the second straight year. They're hoping they can finish the job this time around.
LeBron James made his debut in Los Angeles on Saturday night, and the crowd at Staples Center wasn't able to watch Game 7 of the NLCS. But when the Lakers made the announcement, the Staples Center crowd erupted:

The Dodgers will travel to Boston to take on the Red Sox. Boston facing off against LA for a title. Where have we heard that before? The old rivalry is taking on new life. We've all seen the Lakers and Celtics square off in the NBA Finals, but this will be the first time any of us see the Dodgers and Red Sox meet in the Fall Classic.
The two organizations met all the way back in 1916, but at that point in time, they played in Brooklyn and they were called the Robins. So while speaking in technicalities, this isn't the first World Series between the franchises, but this is the first time LA and Boston will meet in the World Series.
The Dodgers are looking to be the first team to crack the Red Sox this season. Boston finished the season with a ridiculous record of 108-54. They rolled through the New York Yankees and Houston Astros who were once thought to be worthy foes. Now it all comes down to a classic rivalry with a new twist.
And while the Dodgers are looking to win it all, the Lakers will be seeking out their first win of the season.
