After hearing several reports of targeted burglaries in his area, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has decided to ramp up the security at his house in Los Angeles. Ordinary surveillance cameras do the trick in most cases, but James has taken home security to another level.

According to a report from TMZ, the homes of several well-known celebrities have been targeted in burglaries in recent days. In fact, TMZ notes that more than 24 houses have been hit by vandals, including those of Rihanna, Yasiel Puig, and Christina Milian.

Four people have been arrested in correlation with the crimes. Police officials say the burglars had a list of 12 targets to hit, including the residences of James, Matt Damon, and Viola Davis.

LeBron James, now 33 years of age, is raising three kids with his wife, Savannah. TMZ notes that the former No. 1 overall pick is taking serious measures to protect his home and family.

Sources tell us … Bron has at least 10 armed security personnel at the home — including off-duty police officers. We're told the NBA's security team is also involved in the security plans.

Police are asking the public for any additional information about the people involved in the burglaries, as there could be more suspects on the lamb.

James and the Lakers will be back in action on Thursday night, when they'll welcome the Sacramento Kings to The Staples Center. Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. EST with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage.
