Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James' company has landed another TV show deal on NBC.
As reported by Nellie Andreeva of Deadline, NBC has given āa script commitment plus penaltyā to James and Maverick Carter's Springhill Entertainment, writer Jennifer CecilĀ Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelmanās Brownstone Productions, and Warner Bros. Television where both SpringHill and Brownstone are housed.
The show will be entitled āHoops,ā tagged as a basketball-themed drama, will revolve around the story of Stevie Decker and her journey back to her alma mater to become the first female head coach of a men's college basketball team. She will try to accomplish this goal amidĀ her problematic family life, and the sex scandal involving her mentor ā who's a legendary basketball coach.
The deal comes in after Springhill locked in a deal with NBC for āBrotherly Love,ā a single-camera comedy project which involves Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons.
Springhill's portfolio of shows includes āThe Wallā on NBC, āThe Shopā on HBO, āDo or Dareā on Facebook Watch. They also have an upcoming docu-series āWarriors of Libertyā set to premiere on Starz, āMillion Dollar Mileā ā a competition reality series on CBS, and limited scripted series āMadam C.J. Walkerā starring Octavia Spencer for Netflix.
