Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James remains on the sidelines due to an abdominal strain. Reports have swirled that he could be out longer than expected, throwing an early wrench to the Lakers' campaign.
But while he's out of commission, LeBron has extra time to ponder other things. The King has always been an inquisitive mind so his brain is never not busy. On Tuesday, he posted an Instagram Story of a bunch of deeply existential quotes.
At 36 years old, LeBron has had a wealth of experience on and off the hardwood floor, so it's only appropriate for him to reflect on what has been a very illustrious life (via @kingjames).
In case you didn't notice, LeBron chose a different kind of philosopher in the late rapper Nipsey Hussle. LBJ has always been a big fan of the Los Angeles-based artist and he never forgets to pay tributes to him since his unfortunate death in 2019.

LeBron has dealt with a multitude of critics his entire career, but through the years, he's learned to tune them out and prove them wrong. As the quote on his post said, he is the creator of his own destiny.
“Who would you want to define you? Someone else or yourself?”
The Lakers are struggling with LeBron out. They escaped the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, salvaging what could have been another embarrassing meltdown. It doesn't need a philosophical theory to deduce that the Lakers are better when LBJ is on the court.
In fact, the whole NBA is better when LeBron James plays.
