Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is just one game shy of tying his own record of consecutive appearances (117). However, after suffering a groin injury in Tuesday night's 127-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors, his streak seems to be in jeopardy.
LeBron has played in 116 straight regular-season games (every game since last season’s opener).
That is one shy of matching the longest streak of his NBA career. https://t.co/2oWq3j1b91

James' injury occurred in the third quarter of Tuesday night's game. The King nearly lost possession of the ball near the elbow, but he managed to gather it in. However, he fell to the floor while doing so, pulling the muscle in his left groin.

I felt a pop and see if I could stretch it a few times and see if it will relieve but it didn't.”
When asked if he expects to miss any time, James said he isn't sure.
“I don't know,” James later added when asked if he expects to miss time. “See what the MRI says and see how I feel for the rest of the day today and I will be all around the clock tomorrow on rehabbing and we will see how I feel on Thursday when we go to [Sacramento].”
MRI scans that were taken revealed no serious damage, but James is currently listed as day-to-day.
James, now in his 16th year of NBA service, has been known as an Iron Man of sorts. However, a groin injury is nothing to play with. Sitting for a few games now would put an end to his streak of games played, but he knows that the ultimate goal for the Lakers lies in the postseason.
