LeBron James believes that Anthony Davis is more talented than Kyrie Irving. As simple and straightforward as that.
Speaking on the Road Trippin' podcast, James broke down the advantages Davis has over the point guard (via Nico Martinez of Fadeaway Sports).
“You know we talk about Kyrie (Irving) as far as how gifted he is. AD is even probably more gifted than Kyrie in the sense of you add seven, eight more inches of height. His ability to dribble, shoot, three-pointers, mid-range, low post. His defensive prowess is uncanny.”
The comments over The Kings' apparent preference for Davis seem certain to intensify rumors concerning LeBron's and Irving's relationship, which is believed to be strained.

Though they were successful in securing the first championship in Cleveland Cavaliers' history, the partnership between them soon broke down following Irving's request for a trade. While the breakup was surprising, the duo appeared cordial initially, with Kyrie even claiming at one point to have called LeBron to apologize for his past behavior.
The relationship once again appears to have gone off the rails, however, following Irving's recent comments that Kevin Durant is the only teammate he's ever had who he fully trusts to take a game-winning shot. It was widely seen as a veiled shot at LeBron, who admitted he was “hurt” over the comments.
For someone as media savvy as LeBron James, his praise of Davis' skillset was almost certainly intended in the same way as Irving's regarding Durant.
With the recent developments, it will be definitely interesting to watch LBJ and AD go up against Irving and KD this upcoming NBA season.
