Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Ingram is currently in an impressive stretch, scoring at least 25 points in the team's last five games, and All-Star teammate LeBron James has been pretty impressed with the sophomore forward's recent offensive surge.
“He’s found a groove. He’s found his niche, from anywhere on the floor. He can shoot over anybody with his length. He can attack versus anybody. He’s in a really, really, really good zone, and I love everything about it.”
Ingram had 31 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in the Lakers' 131-120 loss against the Milwaukee Bucks last night. He has scored at least 30 points in the team's last three games, and he's already become the Lakers' second best player behind James.
Ingram's offensive resurgence is coming off the heels of all the trade rumors he was involved in last month. He was part of the reported trade package that the Lakers offered in an attempt to acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. He's never allowed himself to be bothered by all the speculations and instead, kept his focus in the Lakers' quest of making the playoffs, and it paid off for him.
For the month of February, Ingram has averaged 21.1 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep.
It looks like Ingram has already been able to adjust his game while playing with LeBron. His recent numbers indicate that he can be as productive on the court as the three-time champion.
Whether this late sure for Ingram is too late or not remains to be seen. The team has 20 games left, and each and every one of them is a must win if they want to make the playoffs.
