The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly reached out to Tyronn Lue and the two sides are expected to meet at some point next week, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
The Lakers parted ways with Luke Walton on Friday. Lue is widely believed to be the front-runner for the L.A. job since he has a close relationship with star small forward LeBron James.

James and Lue won the 2016 championship together with the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Golden State Warriors. The duo guided the Cavs to three-straight Finals. Lue went 128-83 with the Cavs in the regular season. He was fired on October 28, 2018.
Article Continues BelowLue played for the Lakers for three seasons. He was part of the 2001 championship team which defeated Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers in five games.
The Lakers are looking for a strong voice to lead the franchise. We know James and Lue already have a good rapport, and all the players on the Cavs had good things to say about Lue as well.
Los Angeles hasn't made the playoffs since 2013. The franchise is expected to try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis this summer and sign a max contract player in free agency.
