Los Angeles Lakers new acquisition Tyson Chandler put on a Dennis Rodman-esque performance coming off the bench, registering a whopping plus-27 while snatching nine boards, adding an assist and a steal in his 27 minutes on the floor, helping his team grab a 121-113 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Coach Luke Walton happily gave praise to his new center, making him the primary example of unselfishness and team-first attitude.

“I thought Tyson Chandler and his minutes tonight set the perfect example as far as who we want to be as a team,” said Walton, according to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints. “Plus-27. Zero shot attempts. Nine rebounds. All over the floor. Just competing with nothing in mind other than trying to win for his team.”

Tyson Chandler is no longer a double-double threat as he was during his days with the New Orleans Hornets and the Dallas Mavericks, but rather a capable defender and a tenacious rebounder that can help the Lakers through stretches.

His win-first mentality, competitive edge, and championship mettle were large reasons why the Lakers sought him out after he was bought out by the Phoenix Suns, a small move that has had big returns for a team struggling to find its footing.

Tyson Chandler is playing an average of 21.1 minutes since joining the Lakers, but he's already showing a monstrous consistency, grabbing at least nine boards in each of his last four games and making the most of his playing time off Walton's bench.
