Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson wants us all to know that Anthony Davis balled out on Monday against the Orlando Magic. In just his third game back after missing 30 games due to a calf issue, Davis was out of his minutes restriction and tallied 18 points. The thing is, he needed 15 shots, which clearly suggests that he's still working his way back.

Magic, however, was clearly pleased with AD's performance. He quickly took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Davis' “best game” since his long setback. It's also worth noting here that it's against the oh-so dangerous Magic.

At least we all know that Magic's standards are a bit low.

Going back to planet Earth, everyone knows that Davis is still a few weeks away from being his All-Star self. Even fans of the Purple and Gold know that for a fact. The struggles of the defending champions at this point continue despite their easy win over the Magic, with AD getting his first win since his return.

The Lakers have definitely lost some steam as they continue to drop in the team standings. They've now fallen to the fifth spot in the Western Conference with the Dallas Mavericks only a couple of games away. If the Lakers want to secure homecourt advantage in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, they might need more than these “impressive” numbers from Davis given that LeBron James is still out.

But a win is a win and the Lakers will take it. Anything they can do to help them gain momentum coming into the postseason will definitely be beneficial, especially for Anthony Davis. And with this, as Magic Johnson might deduce, they can win back-to-back titles.
