Draymond Green is no stranger to Twitter antics. The four-time NBA champion has certainly earned his right to talk trash and troll. He enacts that right practically every time he graces the timeline. In his latest viral tweet, Green took a positive spin on his antics, shedding some praise onto Lakers draft selectee Max Christie.

Green is obviously referencing Christie, a point guard selected by the Lakers 35th in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Michigan State. Christie was informed of the complement during a post-draft media and gave his reaction.

Via ESPN's Dave McMenamin:

“That’s really cool,” he said. “Props to Draymond for that.”

Of course, Green is mostly using the coincidence to pat himself on the back. Once an underrated, second-rounder, dual-sport athlete from Michigan State, Green is now a central figure in one of the league's greatest dynasties. He's a 4x All-Star, 2x All-NBA team and 7x All-Defensive team member. That's a high standard to meet, but perhaps Green will end up right about Christie.

Christie is an interesting prospect, but has some development to achieve before an All-Star season is even possible. The 6'6″, 19-year-old point guard was named a Big Ten All-Freshman team member this season. He certainly has the upside, the Lakers just need to make the production match.

Christie averaged 9.3 points at Michigan State, but hovered just above 30% shooting from three, something that will need to improve at the next level.

The Lakers have a stuffed roster and aren't exactly known for their player development, so it will be interesting to see how Christie develops. On the bright side, Green wasn't the most highly-touted prospect either. Perhaps one day, there will be two 35th picks from MSU that turned out to be All-Stars.
