If you don't know by now, Twitter is home to some of the most polarizing sets of NBA fans all over the globe. This is exactly why a fair amount of keyboard warriors got on Stephen A. Smith's case as soon as they realized how much shade the ESPN host threw at the direction of Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant.
Smith recently came out with his Top 5 list of greatest players of all time, and unsurprisingly, it drew a lot of violent reactions on the mean streets of Twitter. The fact that Smith decided to omit Kobe from his GOAT list clearly did not sit well with some folks:

Smith is one of the most respected sports analysts out there, and it goes without saying that his opinion matters. Well, this is probably why Kobe fans everywhere started calling out Smith for his slander on the late, great Lakers legend.

The kobe disrespect doesn't even shock me anymore. Kobe played on defense, and won 5 rings. Kobe is tied with MJ and the Glove as most first team all defense for a guard. No one understands that in his prime, Kobe was the best scorer and perimeter defender in the league.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. A lot of fans jumped on Smith's comments section, and it wasn't all about Kobe Bryant. Top 5 lists are always tricky as there's always a handful of players that you end up leaving out. Smith recently experienced the backlash first hand, but in truth, he probably doesn't even care at all.
