After the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans on Feb. 23, veteran point guard Rajon Rondo reportedly led a players-only meeting to find “a better understanding of one another,” according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

The trade deadline had already passed. The Lakers didn't acquire Pelicans star Anthony Davis and the players on the roster knew they were all made available in trade talks for AD.

On an off day in Memphis following a 128-115 loss to an Anthony Davis-less Pelicans team on Feb. 23, the LeBron James-led Lakers had their own air-it-out session. Rondo organized the players-only meeting to find “a better understanding of one another,” a team source told ESPN.

The meeting apparently didn't work.

The Lakers lost the next game to the Memphis Grizzlies. Los Angeles went 2-10 after the loss to the Memphis squad.

This season has been a nightmare for LeBron James and pretty much everyone on the Lakers. The team was in the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings on Christmas Day. However, that's when the entire season changed, as James hurt his left groin against the Golden State Warriors.

LeBron missed 17 consecutive games. LA went 6-11 and saw their playoff hopes go down the drain.
