The Los Angeles Lakers undoubtedly will take their best shot at landing Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George, despite reports that he's leaning toward remaining in a partnership with Russell Westbrook.
Yet somehow, the Lakers' pitch was leaked to Sports Illustrated‘s Robin Lundberg, who detailed the purple-and-gold's strategy to reel in their prized free agent target.
“The person recruited to do the voiceover was told that it should be “less Morgan Freeman/Denzel Washington, and more Jamie Foxx”?
The pitch entitled “Two Dreams” makes hints about who the pitch is for.
In your room
Dreaming from PalmdaleWe were dreaming too.
While you dreamt, we built – built for your arrival
And while we dreamt, you built too
Becoming one of the world's greatest.Life's most powerful dream are the one we realize ourselves.
The ones that turn us into legends.
That kid from Palmdale always knew it
Now the world will, too”
Corny? Maybe.

But it's only corny if it doesn't work.
L.A. will be hellbent in luring one major free agent to start the new era of Showtime, and having been massively rejected by the San Antonio Spurs during a draft-day call inquiring about Kawhi Leonard — George remains the next most likely hometown talent to join this season and help the Lakers catch the big fish in LeBron James.
The Palmdale native was a sure-shot to wind up with the Lakers last offseason, after he requested a trade from the Indiana Pacers. But a year appears to have made a difference, as his rapport with budding star Westbrook seems to have been enough to entice him to stay.
George put up 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 79 games this season for the Thunder.
