Lue coached LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two won the 2016 championship over the Golden State Warriors.
Lue went 128-83 as head coach of the Cavs. He was fired on October 28, 2018 and has been linked to the Lakers job in rumors since then.
Jackson coached the Warriors for three seasons. He currently works at ESPN as a NBA TV analyst. Jackson went 121-109 with Golden State. He was let go on May 6, 2014 and replaced by Steve Kerr.
Article Continues BelowLue is the favorite to get the Lakers job because of his relationship with LeBron. He was an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics and LA Clippers before he joined the Cavs as an assistant in 2014.
Lue, of course, also played for the Lakers during his playing days and was part of the 2001 title team which defeated Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers.
If the Lakers fire Walton, expect Lue or Jackson to get the job.
