The Los Angeles Lakers are in shambles right now. There's just no other way to put it. On Thursday, LA suffered their fourth consecutive loss in another blowout against their cross-town rivals in the Clippers, 132-111.

At this point, it feels like a squad overhaul in the offseason has become inevitable. The issue with this, however, is that the Lakers don't really have too many trade assets available. One blockbuster trade idea that has been floated recently is the prospect of parting ways with Anthony Davis. It may sound a bit absurd, but the harsh reality for LA is that right now, this is how desperate things have become for them.

The bad news for the Lakers, however, is that apparently, even an Anthony Davis trade might not be enough to solve their problems. This is because according to NBA insider Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, AD's current value in the trade market is at an all-time low:

Oh sure, they could make some minor moves around the edges of the roster, but that won’t be enough to save the day. They could always trade Davis — but his history of injuries won’t exactly have opposing teams mortgaging the farm. Far from it.

One rival executive told Hoops Wire that Davis has less value as a trade commodity now than he’s ever had, and “considerably so.”

For the Lakers, this is so bad on so many levels. AD's injury history is well-documented. Right now, he's been out with a foot sprain and has no firm timetable to return. Injuries have always been a thorn on Davis' side for pretty much his entire career and now that he's about to turn 29, it just feels like the injuries are beginning to take a toll on him — and on his trade value.

On the other hand, the mere fact that the Lakers are being linked to a potential trade for one of the best players on their team speaks volumes of the kind of state they are currently stuck in. This franchise is such a dire situation that for some, only a major squad overhaul can fix the problem at hand. Is it really this bad for the Lakers right now?
