There is reportedly shock and relief in rival organizations that the Los Angeles Lakers haven't chased Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers, San Antonio Spurs GM R.C. Buford and Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti before they go looking for a new head coach, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
The Lakers and Luke Walton parted ways, while Magic Johnson stepped down as president.

All of that happened before Steve Kerr became Golden State’s coach.
It's evident no one in the NBA respects or trusts Pelinka. The Lakers, who missed the playoffs in the first year of the LeBron James era, need to clean up their front office quickly if they want to build a contender while James is still playing.
The New Orleans Pelicans hired David Griffin as their new vice president of basketball operations.
Griffin was a guy many in Los Angeles wanted to run the Lakers since he has a close relationship with James.
