Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant's stolen high school jersey is finally back where it belongs.

In a story detailed by Dave McMenamin of ESPN, a 28-year-old Chinese Kobe-fanatic named Liu Zhe returned the legendary no. 33 Lower Merion High School jersey after he had bought the memorabilia online.

At first, Liu was happy to add the jersey, which he bought for around $2,000, to his already handful Mamba collection. However, after receiving his newly-acquired collectible, he saw that the framed jersey had a strong resemblance to the stolen one in 2017 during SuperBowl Weekend.

Liu first planned to personally return the jersey to the five-time NBA champion when Bryant makes his trip to China on Saturday for a FIBA World Cup event. However, he was able to reach a representative from the Lower Merion basketball team, who eventually engineered the return of the jersey back into the Kobe Bryant Gymnasium.

The jersey has reportedly been authenticated, and authorities are still making investigations into the incident back in 2017. Nonetheless, what's important is that the jersey is back in Lower Merion High School.

Kudos to Liu for doing the right thing and returning the jersey to its rightful place. Most may find keeping the memorabilia to themselves in secret so tempting.

But he did the right thing, saying that a message Bryant wrote to him in the past motivated him to do so. Add the fact that he didn't even ask to be compensated for his good deed.

According to McMenamin, all that Liu wants is for Bryant to know that his jersey had been returned.

Liu also shared that he has already met Bryant a few times already both in China and the United States. Perhaps a personal meeting with the Mamba should be more than enough thank this long-time Kobe admirer for what he did.
