Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis acknowledged that he wouldn't be in the position to win his first-ever NBA title without the help of his old man.
Shortly after the Lakers captured the 2020 NBA title in Game 6 of the Finals versus the Miami Heat on Sunday, AD made sure to praise his supportive father, Anthony Davis Sr., who went through a lot just to make it inside the bubble in Walt Disney World.
“He's one of my biggest supporters. He stayed in quarantine 30 days just to be in this moment,” Anthony Davis told Rachel Nichols of ESPN post-match.
“He always texts me before games telling me to ‘Go get it'. He's my biggest critic and biggest supporter. I know he's proud of me, at the beginning of my career waiting for this moment. I know he's proud of me. I love you, Pops,” the Lakers star added.

Before landing in LA this summer, Davis spent seven seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans. The 27-year-old megastar had to endure several losing seasons, failing to make it past the second round of the playoffs.
After forming the best one-two punch in the league alongside LeBron James, Davis can now call himself an NBA champion. It's nice to see AD share the wonderful moment with the man who's been with him through it all.
