The addition of Brook Lopez and Lonzo Ball to the Los Angeles Lakers has given their fans plenty of optimism for this coming season. Many believe that they can once again become a winning group soon and easily surpass their win total this past year.

Even some sports betting sites like BetOnline.ag, thinks the Lakers can win a lot more games with their current lineup, despite not signing any free agent so far. They even placed an over-under of 36.5 games for bettors to decide if they’ll reach that many victories in the regular season or not.

To put that number into perspective, the betting site is projecting the Lakers to win more games than nine other teams, including the L.A. Clippers (34.5) and Portland Trail Blazers (35.5), who are both perennial playoff teams in the tough Western Conference.

Although the numbers are not yet final and are expected to change depending on what happens in free agency, it goes to show what kind of expectations are already on the Lakers, and the confidence Las Vegas books have on the storied franchise.

However, if Lopez and Ball can prove that they can quickly adapt to the system of head coach Luke Walton, and thrive along with the team’s current pool of players, they might just turn a lot of heads, and make BetOnline look like geniuses with their projections.
