As Dirk Nowitzki nears the end of his career, he is still playing good basketball, and Friday night he joined some elite company.

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN:

The basketball reference database (since 1983-84) has Robert Parish and Michael Jordan as only age 39+ dudes to get at least 5 steals and 2 blocks in a game. Defensive menace Dirk Nowitzki joined them tonight, plus put up 16 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes.

That wasn't the only impressive thing he accomplished against the Warriors either. In the video posted below, you can see Dirk pump fake twice on Draymond Green, and get him to bite both times. That leaves him with a wide open shot that he sinks.

The Mavericks were able to stick around for the first half. In the second half though the Warriors went on one of their offensive tears and pulled away, winning the game 121-103.

For Dirk though even though he is getting up there in age, and he probably only has a couple of years left in the NBA, he still has been playing well on both sides of the floor.

He is averaging 25 minutes per game and putting up 12.2 points, 5,7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He is also shooting 45.8 percent from the field.

All those numbers are down from his career averages where he has put up 21.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Even though he isn't as good of a player as he once was, everyone needs to enjoy what he has brought to the game of basketball, not only in the NBA but also with international play.

The number of games left with Dirk on the floor is limited, and they need to be cherished.
