There are plenty of things that the Dallas Maverick could not get right this season, which is why they are wallowing in the bottom of the NBA standings. Having said that, one would expect that a professional organization like the Mavericks would have no problems doing trivial things correctly like stitching their players’ names on the uniforms.
Wrong!
Take a look at this botched spelling of Mavs big man Dirk Nowitzki’s name on the uniform he wore Monday night in a road game against the L.A. Clippers.
They really spelled Dirk’s name wrong on his big night 😐 pic.twitter.com/88YlS3dT0m

It’s funny and sad at the same time. It’s hilarious because Dirk Nowitzki has been around the NBA for close to two decades now, and yet someone connected to the only team he has played for in his legendary career could not spell his name correctly. It’s unfortunate in the sense that it has to be a good guy like Nowitzki who had to witness his family name get such alphabetic maltreatment. Germans are known for their precise engineering, so perhaps Nowitzki could only shake his head at the “you had one job” moment of Dallas’ tailor.
Nowitzki probably did not mind this at all, however. It’s not like he will demand a trade just because of a couple of misplaced letters on his jersey. Nowitzki, who signed a one-year deal with the Mavs last season, could remain in Dallas if the team exercised its club option on him.
Nowitzki and the Mavericks will look to bounce back from a 104-101 loss to the Clippers this Thursday on the road against the defending champions, Golden State Warriors.
