Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley Jr. has gotten mostly crickets upon hitting the trade block, besides the Utah Jazz' reported interest in trading for him, according to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

Despite being the younger of two between him and soon-to-be 34-year-old Marc Gasol; Conley, 31, is an unnecessary commodity in today's market, as most of the 30 NBA teams already have a starting-caliber point guard in their roster and the few teams that don't won't gamble on a player older than 30, who will be worth $34.5 million in two years and is only a year removed from having surgery to repair a bone protrusion in his left heel.

Conley at one point had the biggest NBA annual contract since Michael Jordan in 2016, getting an awful lot of grief for such a hefty contract.

The 6-foot-1 point guard responded by having his best NBA season yet, posting 20.5 points and 6.3 assists per game through 69 games — but he couldn't keep it up for much longer.

The Ohio State product played only 12 games last season before having season-ending heel surgery, and while he's come back healthy for this 2018-19 season, most NBA franchises don't see the upside in paying close to $70 million for a player whose career is likely in downslope.

According to O'Connor, teams like the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are bound to make an acceptable offer, but given how the Grizzlies have been hellbent in moving Chandler Parsons' albatross contract along with any of their two stars, it seems heavily unlikely that something gets done before the Feb. 7 trade deadline..
