The Miami Heat are going to have some interesting decisions to make when the NBA trade deadline comes around. They're always one of those teams who makes plenty of moves to make their teams contenders and that's not going to change this season. They don't necessarily have a lot of pieces that they are probably willing to get rid of, but in order to bring back some championship pieces and guys that can make an immediate impact, they might have to get rid of some of those younger guys. Fortunately for the Heat, some other guys have stepped up this season and it has made it easier for them to get rid of some other guys, especially because they are playing better than anyone ever expected and their trade value is going to be the highest that it's ever been.

Miami is 23-13 on the season and has done that despite being heavily injured for most of the year. They have been impressive but there are still some questions about if they can beat a team like the Brooklyn Nets or Milwaukee Bucks in a playoff series.

With the way that Tyler Herro has been playing this season, and also getting Victor Oladipo back at some point, the Heat do have some options to get rid of some of their other players. They are clearly loaded at the guard position and can definitely use some more length and height in their starting lineup. That means that they can trade one of their younger guards and potentially even get rid of a guy like Duncan Robinson if the price is right.

In order for the Heat to be championship contenders just like everybody wants them to be, they're going to need to make some moves during the trade deadline. Let's take a look at three guys that the Heat should think about trading in order for them to become championship contenders.

3. KZ Okpala

This kid isn't a bad player by any means and has certainly played better than many in the Heat organization expected him to. He is still only 22 years old so he could get back a decent return if a team is rebuilding and looking to add some pieces. He's definitely not a star by any means and the Heat could certainly get somebody back for him that is much better than what he can provide. The only reason that the Heat might decide to keep this kid is because he is six foot ten and does offer some versatility on the defensive side of the ball. The reality of the situation is he probably won't play much in the playoffs and if he can get back somebody who can in a trade package, it would make no sense for the Heat not to get rid of him.

2. Max Strus

Max Strus has been playing very well this season and has definitely shown glimpses of being a very good player. With him being an undersized forward, it doesn't make much sense for the Heat to keep him around. Although he has played well this season, there are certainly better options out there for the Heat. The only reason that they might decide to keep him is because he is shooting 40% from three-point range on six three-point attempts per game. He has proven to be an elite three-point shooter and that's exactly something that Miami loves and needs with their offense. He has obviously played the best that he ever has throughout his career this season so Miami could think about getting rid of him because he is going to get back a good return.

If they don't feel like he is going to play much once everybody is back and healthy, it would make sense for them to get rid of him. Factor in that he is also only on a two-year contract and the Heat might not decide to bring him back when his contract is up. It would make sense that they do decide to get rid of him because a lot of teams are going to be looking for a guy who could shoot a 3-pointer at a high rate. Miami also has their own needs and three-point shooting isn't necessarily one of them because they do have a lot of guys who can space the floor.

1. Duncan Robinson

Duncan Robinson would be an interesting one because he has been a staple of this Heat team for the past few years. It wouldn't make much sense to get rid of him but he has struggled this season and his contract is definitely not organization friendly. They could decide to keep around Strus and get rid of Robinson because Robinson is having a down year. On the flip side of that, he has been starting to play a bit better as of late but is still only shooting 34% from three-point range on eight attempts per game.
