Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic says his surgically repaired right knee “is way stronger than last year.”

Dragic played in just 36 games last season because of the surgery. The lefty is entering a contract year, so the Heat are looking forward to Dragic recapturing his All-Star form.

“My leg is way stronger than last year,” Dragic said, via Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. “Basically the right leg is stronger than the left one. I'm doing some basketball drills, some lifting weights. Everything is going like we planned.”

Goran Dragic averaged 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season while shooting 41.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.2 percent from the free-throw line. He recorded four double-doubles and one triple-double.

The Heat were 16-20 when Dragic was in the lineup in 2018-19. Dragic will make $19.2 million next season and become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020 unless he and Miami agree to a contract extension during the 2019-20 campaign.

Miami made a big splash in free agency, acquiring four-time All-Star Jimmy Butler from the Philadelphia 76ers. The Heat also traded for Meyers Leonard from the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Heat now have Dragic, Butler, Justise Winslow and Bam Adebayo as the main cogs on the team. Miami will look to make the playoffs next season after missing it in 2018-19.
