Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to illness.

Whiteside is currently averaging 12.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game this season, but he won't take part in the team's game against the Grizzlies, according to Heat beat writer Ira Winderman.

The Heat are now 20-20 on the season after the impressive 115-99 victory over the Boston Celtics, and they'll try to keep the momentum going in the matchup against Memphis.

The Grizzlies are 19-22 overall on the season, and they're coming off a big win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Beating the Celtics was huge for the Heat considering that they had lost two in a row prior to that game, and there's no doubt that Miami has made significant improvement throughout the season.

The game against the Grizzlies is an important one due to the upcoming schedule, as Erik Spoelstra's group will have a ton of road games over the next several weeks.

Miami will have four straight road games coming up against the Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics, so it's essential to grab another home win before heading into that slate.

After that, the Heat will return to American Airlines Center on Jan. 23 for a matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers.
