Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler set a record for being the first player to outscore, outrebound, and out-assist Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James in a Finals game, including Lebron's teammates. Despite his impressive performance, Butler knows that he can't do it alone if they want to win more games in the series, while also mentioning sophomore wing Duncan Robinson.
“He’s going to be a reason that we win one of these games,” he said. “He’s going to hit six, seven 3s, and I’m going to jump up and down, and I’m going to give him a big hug, maybe a slight kiss on the back of his head, because I know how important that guy is to our team.”
The 26-year old mainly struggled with his shots and finished with a total of 13 points with 3 assists on 3/10 shooting from beyond the arc for the Heat. His rookie teammate in Tyler Herro added 17 points on a 2-of-7 clip from the three-point area.

Finding themselves in a 0-2 hole, the Heat came out with a vengeance to steal Game 3 of the 2020 NBA Finals on a 115-104 winning effort. Jimmy Butler exploded for 40 points along with 13 assists and 11 rebounds to lead his team to their first victory of the series.
The Miami-based squad headed into Game 3 without two of their regular starters in veteran guard Goran Dragic who was nursing his torn plantar fascia injury while center Bam Adebayo strained his shoulder back in Game 1 of the series.
With the absence of a couple of their main guys, the Heat will need their active players to step up in their next games. Butler will aim to lead the team and even the series come Game 4 to inch closer to a championship upset against the Lakers.
