The Miami Heat have been one of the biggest surprise teams in the NBA this season. At 31-13, they are in second place in the Eastern Conference and have the third-best record in the NBA behind the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.
Not only are Heat winning games, but they're also coming up clutch when it matters most. Despite blowing a lead against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, they outscored Washinton 16-11 in overtime to secure the five-point win.
With the victory, the Heat did not only solidified their position in the East, but they also improved their record in overtimes games this season to a staggering 8-0. Even more impressive is the fact that in those overtime games, Miami has outscored their opponents 102-52, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Like in Wednesday's game, it's not always a good thing that the Heat are often going to overtime. However, it's good to know that when they are in a close battle, they have already figured out ways to pull through and win.
A big part of Miami's success this season comes from the addition of Jimmy Butler, who was traded to the team last July. The four-time All-Star scored nine of the team's 16 points in the overtime period against the Wizards.
In addition to Butler, breakout seasons from center Bam Adebayo and sharpshooter Duncan Robinson have given the team quality options across the board.
Lastly, the emergence of rookies Kendrick Nunn and Tyler Herro has transformed the Heat into one of the league's best and most exciting teams.
