The Miami Heat came moments away from making their second NBA Finals in three years. Despite bouncing back from an embarrassing 2020-21 season, they have some more moves to make to compete with Jimmy Butler leading the way. One trade option they are looking into is Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons.
According to Adam Borai of Bleacher Report and Sports Illustrated, the Heat are joining the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers as teams to keep a close eye on. Just like the Hawks, the Trail Blazers want to pair their superstar point guard with Grant. Miami, though, is looking to make him a part of a dynamic frontcourt alongside Bam Adebayo.
Sources: Jerami Grant's trade candidacy has been heating up the past few weeks. Concerns over his extension have stalled potential suitors from seriously engaging with DET as of now. As previously reported, the Blazers & Hawks are teams to watch. Now, add the Heat to that list.

The Heat are interested in Jerami Grant's scoring and defensive versatility. Since becoming a top option with the Pistons two seasons ago, he has averaged 20.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Although his defense has taken a step back, his scoring abilities have improved. He can still shoot and guard multiple positions.
In Miami's offense, Grant would get the benefit of playing with smart playmakers and shooters. As a defender, he would fit in very well. He could thrive as a defender in one of the best defensive infrastructures in the NBA. With other stars to handle the offense along with him, he may be able to become a truly great defender again.
However, the competition for Grant will be stiff. Many teams looked into Grant at the trade deadline and will likely do so again this offseason. Although Miami may be one of the best teams for him, they will have to pay a very high price if they are able to acquire him.
