The 2019 NBA Awards are announced tonight during an award ceremony, and while many of the awards may seem locked up, the Most Valuable Player award is anyones guess. Both Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden are the likely favorites for the award, with Antetokounmpo projected to win.

During today’s episode of Undisputed, Chris Broussard explained why he voted for Antetokounmpo to take home the award.

Speaking during the show, Broussard explained why he voted for Antetokounmpo, saying that he’s better than James Harden on both ends of the floor. However, Broussard does note that in his 20 years of voting, this has been the closest MVP voting that he can remember.

According to Broussard, he wouldn’t be surprised if either player won, and wouldn’t be mad if Harden did. Of course, the stats are very close, and while some will point to Harden and his incredible usage and effectiveness this season, other can point to Antetokounmpo and his own incredibly effective season. Both players were the clear cut options for MVP, but who managed to convince the voters of their case has yet to be seen.

Giannis finished out the year with some incredible numbers, and did help lead the Bucks to the Eastern Conference Finals. While the postseason doesn’t matter much for award voting, it seems that Antetokounmpo has taken on the odds of being the favorite to win the award. If he does, it will be validation for both himself and the Bucks, and could only be the beginning for a team that’s looking to contend for a long time.
