Almost 500 COVID-19 cases have been linked to the massive celebration the Milwaukee Bucks had over at ‘Deer District' to celebrate their 2021 NBA Finals win. According to the Milwaukee Health Department, a total of 491 cases have already been reported from individuals who were present during the Bucks' incredible NBA Finals run in the district where the Fiserv Forum, as well as other sports and entertainment spots, are located.
Although it is still unclear if these individuals actually came from the massive championship parade, the 491 individuals did “self-declare” that they indeed attended an event in Deer District at some point during the past month.
“We don't know if the Deer District was necessarily the point of contraction, but that they had attended these large gatherings,” Health Department spokesperson Emily Tau told CNN.

The city of Milwaukee has been waiting to welcome the Larry O'Brien trophy for five decades now. With vaccines being rolled out and things starting to open up, the Bucks planned a huge celebration after Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the squad won Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns where an expected crowd of 500,000 will be showing up.
But, with COVID-19 cases still on the rise in the state of Wisconsin as well as the spreading of the new delta variant, it seems that a percentage of the hundreds of thousands in attendance in ‘Deer District' unfortunately caught the virus.
