Milwaukee Bucks superstar and GQ Man of the Year Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated the Los Angeles Lakers from wire to wire in the Bucks' 109-102 win.

He was brilliant from the jump. Antetokounmpo scored the Bucks' first eight points and dropped 27 in the first half. Despite the Lakers' shifting to a zone in the third quarter (somewhat effectively), there was simply no defense for a dialed-in Giannis.

Antetokounmpo finished with 47 points on 18-of-23 shooting, to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal. He made 8-of-11 from the free-throw line and 3-of-4 from downtown. He was an unstoppable force for four quarters — on both ends.

In fact, Antetokounmpo dominated the Lakers to an extent not seen since the Hall of Famer to whom he's often compared: young Shaquille O'Neal.

According to StatMuse, Antetokounmpo became the first player since O'Neal (then with the Orlando Magic) to score at least 45 points while shooting 75 percent from the field in a game against Los Angeles. Shaq posted 46 points on 20-of-26 FG and 11 rebounds on March 3, 1995, in a Magic win.

“He 3 for 4 from three tonight. We want him shooting that three ball,” Anthony Davis said. “He's gotten better at the midrange and the turnarounds, but we want him shooting the three. … And sometimes he got downhill and attacked me a couple times and got to the basket. But we kind of switched it up in the third quarter. just trying to be a little more physical, and it slowed him down and he made a couple more jumpers. When we went zone, they put him in the middle, and he posts up to the basket, and now you're scrambling because they overload one side.”

“He's a hell of a player,” AD added. “He was hitting some big-time shots, kind of keeping us honest.”

To quote a favorite Shaq-ism, Giannis roasted Davis and the Lakers like barbecue chicken. Now, if only the Lakers can convince Antetokounmpo to play for them.
