Milwaukee Bucks swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Lakers power forward Anthony Davis have been named the Players of the Week for week 2 of the NBA season.

For the Bucks, Antetokounmpo averaged 25.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists, while Davis put up 32.0 points and 13.0 rebounds for the Lakers:

The Lakers are 5-1 on the season. They have defeated the Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs after losing to the Los Angeles Clippers on opening night.

Davis is averaging 28.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.0 blocks on the season. He's shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from beyond the arc and 88.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Giannis and the Bucks are 4-2 on the season. The reigning MVP is putting up 26.7 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting 58.8 percent overall, 20.0 percent from the 3-point line and 61.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Davis is the first Lakers player to win the Player of the Week honor since Kobe Bryant back in the 2012-13 season. LA has been a walking disaster for a couple of years, but with LeBron James and Davis leading the charge this season, the Lakers are back to being a championship contender.

Antetokounmpo and the Bucks had the best record in the NBA last season, but fell short of their goal after losing to the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games. The Greek Freak is eager to redeem himself and lead Milwaukee to the Finals this season.
