The Milwaukee Bucks' decision to fire head coach Jason Kidd was not a simple one.

Despite reasons to justify the move, also to concern was Kidd's relationship with Giannis Antetokounmpo, which was obviously so solid that Giannis even offered to go to bat for Kidd 15 minutes before the news broke in an effort to save Kidd's job.

That's led some to believe that maybe the Greek Freak isn't so fond of the franchise that drafted him. But reportedly, that's not exactly the case.

Is that roster good enough to keep up with Philly and Boston? Despite Kidd's revelation (via ESPN's Ramona Shelburne) that Antetokounmpo offered to try to save his job, Kidd's firing will cause no lingering rift between the Bucks and their star, sources close to him say. Nudging up against a hard ceiling every spring might.

It's really better for Antetokounmpo to understand the decision by the Bucks and move on and continue playing at the near-MVP level he has been this season. Franchises do need to consider their star players when making decisions like this, but it's still up to management at the end of the day and not an ideal strategy to allow players to influence moves like this too much.

It's increasingly looking like this won't be an issue for the Bucks as Antetokounmpo seems to have moved on. Last night he even hit the game-winner to beat the Knicks as Jabari Parker made his season debut. Milwaukee looks to be major players for the trade deadline next week and could make another major move to improve its roster.
