However, following Minnesota's 124-98 loss at the hands of the San Antontio Spurs, Rose acknowledged that he may have been stubborn with how his body is feeling and that he may have taken it to the limit.
The 6-foot-3 guard sat out the second half mainly due to a sore ankle, and finished with just four points, two rebounds, and one assist in 16 minutes of action. Rose also said that he had already felt pain in his ankle prior to the start of the game, but opted to try and play it out in the first half. Nonetheless, it was a wise choice for the Timberwolves to sit him out as they were already down by 18 points at the half.
Looking forward, Rose added that he may miss their next contest to rest up his body. Rose has suited up for 30 of Minnesota's 32 games so far this season, playing 29.5 minutes per game. Thus, it may be smart for the 30-year old to take some time off to recover from any nagging soreness he might be feeling. A maintenance program for his body might be good for his season-long outlook, given that he has not sustained this level of health since his MVP days.
