Undrafted free agent guard Melo Trimble has agreed to a partially-guaranteed contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Maryland junior was expected to declare for the draft last season, but ultimately chose to pull the reins back and come back to school for another year in hopes of improving his stock.
Trimble went undrafted this season after struggling during the NBA Draft Combine and only mustered scarce minutes with the Philadelphia 76ers during the Utah and Las Vegas Summer Leagues.

“In the position I’m in, not being drafted and trying to make a team and all that, I’m not going to be the first or second option. I might not be an option at all. But I’m going to do my role, and these next couple years for me is just getting where I fit in.”
The 22-year-old point guard averaged 16.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for the Terrapins in his last season at the school, and will need to make more-than-solid impressions to become a part of what's become a loaded roster in the Twin Cities.
