In probably another shot against the Minnesota Timberwolves organization, Jimmy Butler says that he found out about Philly trade from friends before the Wolves front office relayed the information to him.
ESPN's Tim Bontemps tweeted out this statement that Butler made during his introductory press conference, Tuesday morning.
Jimmy Butler says he found out about the trade in a series of text messages from friends before hearing from "two people" – presumably Tom Thibodeau and Scott Layden.

Butler's relationship with his former team turned sour when he lashed out at his teammates and demanded a trade. Now that they have parted ways, Butler now appears to be indifferent with the Wolves front office. The 29-year old All-Star didn't even bother to mention Thibodeau and Layden's names.
Article Continues BelowWhen Jimmy Butler first demanded a trade a couple of months back, Thibodeau was very reluctant to grant the disgruntled star his request. However, Butler's presence became toxic on the team as the Wolves found it difficult to start the season strong.
Now that the team has finally let go of Butler, Thibodeau actually felt satisfied with the package they received from the Philadelphia 76ers. ESPN's Malika Andrews mentioned Thibodeau's statements after the trade was made official.
“I said from the beginning: You always have to put the organization first. So you set the parameters for what you are looking for, and once we felt we got to that point where the offers met some of the things we were looking for, then we said, ‘OK, now it's time.'”
Right now, fans are already anticipating how Jimmy Butler will fare when the Sixers go up against his former team. The Sixers are scheduled to host the Timberwolves on January 15, while Butler will have his first game back in Minnesota as a Sixer on March 30.
