Minnesota Timberwolves wing Andrew Wiggins did not have the best of weeks, following reports confirming that he was recently a victim of a burglary. The 24-year-old is spending part of his summer in L.A. working out in preparation for the upcoming season, and according to TMZ Sports this is where the incident took place.

But, we're told cops described the scene as “amateur hour” … because the burglars left jewelry and other valuables in the heist, and only took about $1,000 worth of the stuff instead. We're told the thieves stole a pair of Wiggins' casual Nikes and his luggage — and also made off with his rental SUV Escalade. But, we're told authorities were able to locate the vehicle a short time later.

While $1,000 worth of items is an insignificant amount for Wiggins (he is currently on a five-year, $146 million max deal with the Wolves), being burglarized is still a very traumatic event for anybody. The mere fact that your personal items and your own home — be it a temporary dwelling place or otherwise — was unceremoniously invaded by some ill-willed individuals is not something that can be taken lightly.

Hopefully, this will not cause too much of a headache for Wiggins, as he prepares for the year ahead. The former first overall pick will be entering his sixth season in the NBA, with critics still riding him for allegedly failing to live up to the high expectations many had on him prior to entering the league.

Last season, Wiggins averaged 18.1 points (on 41.2 percent shooting), 4.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.7 blocks, while also draining 1.6 three-pointers per contest for Minnesota.
