After Derrick Rose was released last week by the Utah Jazz, there was a lot of speculation about where he would end up, and many believed a fit that made sense was the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau was Rose's coach in Chicago for a few years, and with Thibodeau's love to bring in former Bulls on the Timberwolves, it seemed to make sense.

But that doesn't actually seem to be the case. Sid Hartmann of the Star Tribune caught up with Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, who had this to say about Rose joining the Wolves.

“If we could find the right person to fit into our team and have some ability to play, get out there on the floor, we are certainly going to look at it,” Taylor said. “We kept one slot open all year long just in case that possibility occurred. But as of today we don’t have anybody in mind.”

After having such a great start to his career he dealt with all kinds of injuries and that led to his downfall. He went from a superstar to a player who might have a problem finding a new home in the buyout market.

There were rumors that the Washington Wizards were also interested in his services, but the longer he doesn't sign, and the closer it get's to John Wall's return, the less likely he will land there.

He started this year with the Cleveland Cavaliers and only appeared in 16 games with the team. He averaged 19.3 minutes, putting up 9.8 points, and 1.6 assists per game.
