When Jimmy Butler was introduced in his opening press conference as a part of the Minnesota Timberwolves one of the more memorable moments was when he gave his phone number out to the press.

It turned out that was his actual phone number and he fielded FaceTime calls from fans that night before changing his phone number. The story died down about his phone number until now, and it turns out because he gave out his phone number he actually had to pay $20.

According to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports when Butler gave out his phone number he was added to a fantasy basketball league, and chat.

“As Sheldon Jack Bowen shared in a personal Facebook post (the details of which Butler's agent, Bernie Lee, confirmed to USA TODAY Sports), he added Butler’s number to a fantasy basketball group chat as a practical joke of sorts. So game after game, week after week, Bowen and his friends surely wondered if and when Butler might chime in to discuss the latest fantasy action. Truth be told, it was the kind of creative prank that Butler could appreciate.”

When the season was over Bowen tweeted out Butler telling him that he owed 20 dollars.

After seeing the tweet not only did Butler pay his entry fee he did much more. He also sent a pair of game-worn Jordans that were signed and a Butler jersey that was intended to go to the champion of the league.

Butler has always been one of the funnier guys around the NBA and always likes to be a part of a funny story, and this was no different.
