Despite everything that he has against his teammates with the Minnesota Timberwolves, forward Jimmy Butler said that he “loves” his guys.
It's safe to put “loves” in quotation marks as it isn't certain if Butler is really serious with these remarks. Nonetheless, it does look like Butler meant what he said as he still shows up to Timberwolves games, and more often than not, delivers for them. It may seem like Butler can be unprofessional off the court with his antics, including this blatant troll job to the Timberwolves. However, he is surely being professional on the court as he continues to lead this team, despite explicitly expressing that he does not want to be on it.
Butler is currently the Timberwolves' leading scorer, averaging 22.3 points per game on 49 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from deep. Moreover, the four-time All-Star is doing everything else needed from him as he is also averaging a well-rounded stat line of 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game.
At this point, it's already inevitable that Butler gets traded from Minnesota. It's only a matter of time. Until then, Butler will be spending most of his days in the foreseeable future with his Timberwolves teammates whom he loves so dearly.
