Before missing Friday's game against the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns had started the first 303 games of his NBA career.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, that is the most consecutive games started for a player right from the first game of his rookie season.

Karl-Anthony Towns got into an accident on Thursday and entered the concussion protocol, so that's why he didn't play on Friday against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

In 57 games this season for the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 23.1 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest. The 23-year-old star center is shooting 51.2 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 84.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Towns was in Charlotte last weekend for his second All-Star game. He looked engaged on the bench on Friday with his teammates, which is great to hear considering what Towns just went through.
Minnesota plays on Saturday against the best team in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks. It's unknown if Towns will suit up and play in that matchup against Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
