Karl-Anthony Towns didn't have his best game against the Los Angeles Clippers in their Play-In Tournament contest on Tuesday night. The Minnesota Timberwolves center had no plans on doubling down on his struggles.

Towns tallied 29 points and 13 rebounds and was a constant force for the Timberwolves all night. His play was a far cry from his 11-point, 3-for-11 dud against the Clippers just days prior.

The three-time All-Star was asked about bouncing back from his poor performance. Towns saw it as an obligation rather than any kind of achievement.

“I just really feel like that’s what I’m supposed to do. It shouldn’t be something we should be celebrating, like ‘Oh, you got a chance to play a really good game on a national stage. You should be really proud and excited.’ I’m supposed to do that,” affirmed the Timberwolves star.

KAT was far from alone in taking Game 1 for Minnesota. Anthony Edwards had himself a night as well with 36 points and six rebounds. Malik Beasley also piled on 23 from the bench as the team had six scorers in double-figures.

“We did a lot of little things that are needed to win,” Towns said. “We should be very proud of our performance.”

The Timberwolves have taken home-court advantage from the two-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. They can definitely smell blood.
