Minnesota Timberwolves general manager Scott Layden says every time backup point guard Derrick Rose shoots the ball, he thinks the shot is going in.
During the month of November, Rose averaged 19.1 points per game while shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 56.3 percent from beyond the arc. Rose is currently the fourth-best 3-point shooter in the league, trailing only Bojan Bogdanovic, Nemanja Bjelica and Stephen Curry. All the hard work Rose put in over the summer to improve his jump shot is paying off in a big way for the Timberwolves.
Timberwolves GM Scott Layden on Derrick Rose: "When you think about the transition from defense to offense & then putting the ball in his hands, it just puts so much pressure on the other team. Every time he shoots now I think it's going in." (Via @julian_andrews_ & @Kyle_Ratke)

Minnesota is 11-11 on the season and 7-2 since the Jimmy Butler trade. In 20 games this year, Derrick Rose is averaging 19.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game and shooting 49.8 percent from the floor, 48.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line. The former MVP scored a career-high 50 points against the Utah Jazz on Halloween and has been having an overall great season.
Derrick Rose has to be in the running for the Sixth Man of the Year award. He's averaging 19.0 points per game on the season, 15.5 as a reserve. Rose started five games this season when Jeff Teague was out with a knee injury.
Rose is only making the veteran's minimum this season. He'll become an unrestricted free agent after the season ends. It's fair to say that the Chicago native is going to get a pay raise.
