The Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time bringing in LeSean McCoy. Now that the veteran running back has officially signed in Kansas City, the Chiefs will quickly get him up to speed before Sunday's season-opening tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Asked on Monday if McCoy would play against Jacksonville, coach Andy Reid answered with a simple affirmative.

The Chiefs officially signed McCoy on Monday morning. They immediately emerged as a strong suitor for the six-time Pro Bowl following his surprising from the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. Other teams reportedly interested in McCoy were the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles.
Article Continues BelowA 10-year veteran, McCoy’s production reached career-low levels across the board last season, an indication of both his fading physical ability and Buffalo’s wholesale struggles on offense. He rushed for 514 yards and three touchdowns in 2018, averaging a paltry 3.2 yards per carry, and also had just 238 yards receiving, his lowest total since 2018 and second-lowest of his career.
But McCoy figures to enjoy much more success in Kansas City. Not only will he play behind a far superior offensive line compared to the one he did in Buffalo, but the Chiefs also have as much offensive talent as any team in football, making it easier for them to put McCoy in positions to succeed.
His history with Reid looms large, too. McCoy played the best football of his stellar career when the pair were with the Eagles, once leading the league in rushing and in 2010 catching 78 passes, tops among all running backs.
